Join us to explore the top Hurdles (barriers), Accelerators (catalysts / trends), and Tech Enablers (tools) for you to leverage in 2025 and beyond.  This interactive session features a rapid-pace version of the Driving K-12 Innovation Advisory Board process that ~140 educators and edtech leaders use each year to evaluate the landscape of K-12 innovation.
 
Driving K-12 Innovation is a flagship initiative of CoSN, the Consortium for School Networking, which produces free annual reports that guide school leaders and educators around the world on the coming trends and challenges impacting teaching, learning, and leadership.

Building and maintaining a district student data privacy program is a complex endeavor, but you don't need to go it alone! Whether you are looking to improve an existing privacy program or are just getting started, this session will take you through the fundamentals, provide you with actionable steps to help you better protect the privacy of your students, and build trust within your community around the steps you’re taking to protect student data.

Using the practices required in the Trusted Learning Environment Seal program as the guide, this workshop will cover:
  • Student data privacy fundamentals, including FERPA, PPRA and COPPA
  • Privacy policy and practice recommendations
  • The importance of transparency with your community in order to build trust

Attendees will come away with better grounding in the basics of federal student data privacy laws, actionable insights to build and improve their student data privacy programs, and the tools needed to get started.
